Residency in Pediatrics at Staten Island University Hospital

Staten Island University Hospital, which has earned its place among the leading hospitals in the northeast, is a member of Northwell Health. Our state designated Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit has 11 neonatal ICU beds and nearly 3,000 births per year. Both our inpatient and outpatient departments includes board-certified physicians in all the subspecialties. During their PICU rotations, residents will be rotating through our affiliated hospital, Cohen's Children Medical Center.

We are also a major academic affiliate of the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell and State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn's (SUNY-HSCB) College of Medicine. Students from both places and several other medical schools come here for an enriching teaching experience. Our comprehensive didactic curriculum for the residents is one that not only incorporates formal lectures and conferences but also interactive bedside teaching.

We are committed to providing excellence in patient care, education, and research. At the same time, we strive to ensure a collegial and supportive environment in which residents thrive.

We invite you to visit and experience for yourself the outstanding opportunities and programs offered here and to join us as we embark on this exciting new journey.

This department serves as a resource to facilitate accreditation of programs as well as recruitment and on-boarding of residents and fellows.
