Fellowship in Vascular & Interventional Radiology at Northwell Health
The Department of Radiology at the Northwell Health offers a one-year fellowship program in vascular and interventional radiology for those who have completed a residency program in diagnostic radiology. The program is based at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and Cohen Children’s Medical Center, as well as several other Northwell Health facilities.
This program provides training in the full spectrum of vascular and interventional radiology services. Cutting edge imaging equipment and devices are available at all facilities. Our busy interventional oncology practice includes biopsies, ablations and chemoembolization and embolization treatments and LIJMC is the busiest Y90 radioembolization program on Long Island.
Fellows receive extensive experience in peripheral vascular interventions including angioplasties, stents, stent grafts placement , venous intervention , and thrombolysis. We have a mature GU and GYN interventional practice which includes uterine fibroid embolziation, treatment of pelvic congestion syndrome, fallopian tube recanalization, varicocele embolization, prostatic embolization and renal tumor ablation. Non vascular work includes a large volume of GI, biliary and GU tract interventions. Cohen Children’s Hospital provides the fellow experience in pediatric and neonatal interventions.
Fellows have the opportunity to participate in interdepartmental meetings and train diagnostic radiology residents, as well as attend national conferences. Opportunities for clinical research are also available at the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research.
The vascular and interventional radiology training program at Northwell Health admits one fellow annually. We participate in the Vascular/Interventional Radiology Fellowship Match administered by the National Residency Match Program (NRMP).
