Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Long Island Jewish Medical Center

Research & development

A well-informed physician is key to improving patient outcomes. Through individualized mentoring training and research opportunities, Northwell Health allows residents to develop the skills necessary to push the boundaries that impede better outcomes.

Ongoing development

As a child and adolescent psychiatry fellow, you will have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of educational experiences designed to enhance your skills and your future career endeavors. All our fellows receive mentoring with members of the faculty throughout their training to discuss goals and personal and professional growth.

Board review

Residents in the child and adolescent psychiatry program receive extensive support as they prepare for their board certification exams. We give trainees access to written self-assessments, as well as oral examinations. We also offer time for travel to participate in review courses and to take the exams.

Leadership development

The Physician Leadership Institute offers a wide array of programs that collectively serve physician leaders at all levels of the organization. These programs aim to recruit, develop, and retain the talent necessary to achieve Northwell Health’s organizational goals by developing the necessary skill sets among physicians to allow them to prosper in high visibility leadership positions.

Understanding health systems and practice management

Being a resident in one of the country’s largest healthcare systems puts you at a unique advantage. Throughout the training program, residents learn about how to navigate and leverage the resources of healthcare systems, strategic elements of practice management and how to adapt and grow in the changing healthcare landscape.
